In 2006, New Dental Choice became the first discount dental plan licensed by the State of California. State licensing means that New Dental Choice members enjoy consumer safeguards that other plans cannot guarantee, including, among other things, credentialed dentists; true and verifiable discounts; truth in advertising, and a dispute-resolution process.

First Dental Health (FDH), the parent company of New Dental Choice, is one of California's largest dental networks. FDH has provided more than half a million insured and uninsured Californians convenient access to affordable dental care from credentialed dentists for over 10 years, and New Dental Choice members have access to approximately one-third of California dentists -- more than 7,500 dentists practicing in over 13,000 dentist locations.

New Dental Choice, originally called The Dental Club and re-branded to coincide with the grant of its state license, was first introduced by First Dental Health in 2001. Participating dentists, who undergo credentialing and annual re-credentialing reviews (as compared to the bi-annual industry standard), reduce their customary fees by one-third to one-half on a fixed fee schedule for more than 300 dental procedures including root canals, teeth whitening, regular checkups, orthodontics and dental implants.

New Dental Choice is the best alternative -- and often a superior choice -- to voluntary individual dental insurance and provides members with features that are not available with traditional insurance, such as no deductibles, no annual maximums, no claim forms, no waiting periods, no age limits and no treatment exclusions or savings limitations.
